Project Notes

NotePosted On
In September 2008, Congress passed a new rail safety law that sets a deadline of December 15, 2015, for implementation of positive train control (PTC) technology across most of the U.S. rail network. Positive Train Control technology will be used over all existing rail and will be implemented on all future RTA rail lines. The major tasks may include a study by an independent consultant to determine how RTA will implement PTC as well as the actual procurement and installation of equipment along the rail lines and on the locomotive itself.4/12/2013
